Europe Photos (II)
Day 9
Boarded Eurostar to London.... It's a free day! We put down our bags, went Harrods shopping! Or rather window shop lah.... Then went Chinatown cum Soho, and Tower Bridge...

A cupid at Chinatown....nice hor... Cam zoom to max liao...

The Tower Bridge! Much much nicer than London Bridge....

Bridge preparing to open up...

Open Sesame!

Opened for these 2 boats (dunno are they called boats or wat...they look like pirate ships to me) to go through...

And we saw this weird looking building nearby...

原来 it's an insurance company building... They dun have life insurance leh, they only insured hair, legs, hands etc... Eg: Jennifer Aniston's hair.

The Weeeman! It's there because.....

Cute right! Mouses as teeth....so creative!
Another open space exhibition near the Weeeman....

Woo!

Taken in France. Written there: A mangrove swamp is an amphibious tree formation common to muddy tropical coastlines with fluctuating tides. It consists of various halophytes (plants that can develop in saline enviornment) and a predominance of mangroves....blah blah blah... At certain spots in the interior that are not reached by seawater except at high tides, vegetation gives way to bare, over salted stretches called tannes, such as this one near the city of Voh, where nature has carved this clearing in the form of a heart.
Day 10
Early in the morning 9 o'clock.... Went Hyde Park. Saw some horses there....and the horses are sooo handsome! Unlike those I saw at Mandai...eee....

Haa! I looked like an alien here! 'cos I resized the pic lah...

Horses with socks!
Then went Westminister...

Big Ben

London Eye owned by British Airway

A staff outside the Tower of London....dunno what he's acting as

Trafalgar Square...many fat pigeons there wor.

The lib in the British Museum. Shakespear wrote his place in there, Marx wrote his theory there too...and many more...

St. James Palace guard. Poor guy....can only move his eyeball...haa...a bit 幸灾乐祸
Didn't take any pics at Buckingham Palace....wat a pity! 'cos the guards were changing shift when we reached there...so super lotsa people there. Can't take pics at all...even if we took photo, the nice buildings will be blocked by all the people. 真可惜....but the change shift ceremony or watever u called it...is quite nice...took video. Show you all next time.

Limo! Many limo in europe leh....europeans are rich!

London taxi
Watched Liverpool vs AC Milan that night. 3-2 on penalty kick! Liverpool won...hooo....our team leader lost his $500.............
Day11
Not with the group anymore. We are on our own! Took Eurostar to Belgium... First stop was Brugge, an old Belgian town.
Searched for our hostel first....Charlie Rockets! It's a pub cum hostel....with spiderwebs.

Their town square. They have 2 squares....forgot wat's the name of this square.

Their fast food restaurant sells beer.....and their sauce cost eur0.50!

Church of the Holy Blood....Jesus's blood is kept here.

Stainglass again....this photo is the only super clear one...
Day 12
Went north of Brugge as recommended by some tourist info....but so crappy leh! There's nothing there loh.... Even the famous Lake of Love there is gross and greeny...unlike Switzerland...Switzerland lang gao shui is clear k!

Windmill and some 小小白花 on the slope

the clock tower is slanted by 7 degree... Really is slanted k, not due to poor photography skill.
Day 13
Left the boring old Brugge and went to Brussels, the captial of Belgium. Stayed in a 2 star hotel, manned by Indians. The hotel quite pathetic....the boss actually owed my friend money 'cos he has no small change... Though we got it back from him the next day, it din reflect very well on the hotel loh. And the map they provided on the web is wrong! We spent around 1.5 hours to search for this hotel with all our bags.

Brussel Town Hall...with us and our shopping bags...haa! Found a shop there selling really cheap stuff...

Brussel National Museum - Musee De La Ville De Brxelles

Dunno what this cathedral called....but should be quite famous lah. Maybe it's not cathedral 'cos remembered it's called Grand Place or something...alamak...watever lah.

The tower at night

Can see the tower is not symmetrical right. After realising this big mistake, the architect went up to the top of the tower and jumped down........reminded me of the guy at Arc de Triump.....

St. Michael Church

The pipe organ in St. Micheal Church....grand right... This is the only non-gloomy Church i went to.

The peeing boy! Looks big right!

But actually...ermm..... (Quote from my bro: he's just a boy...wat do you expect.....)
Day 14
Went back to the town square 'cos we wanted to go to the national museum.

Selling flowers that morning....while there was a bloody assault at the same spot on the previous night...the thick blood still there. What's the matter with those people??

See explanation below

Royal Palace

Another Notre Dame.... Our team leader said Notre Dame = 圣母院, so all catholic cathedral for Mother Mary are called Notre Dame? They all look similar too... (P/S: there are two in Brussels and one in London...just that I din put up...)
Day 15
Took Eurail again to Rotterdam, Netherlands. Rotterdam has many striking modern architecture....but they aren't really that nice....

The famous Cube House in Rotterdam....see wat I mean...wat a waste of space.

This one looks a bit nicer, but I really dunno what are all those chess-like thingy for. Too short for resting, too big for ornament...

The Museumpark just opposite our hostel. We stayed in StayOkay.... great hostel!! Super good...but slightly more ex than other hostels.
To be continued....
